The feedback that I got was that I asked really good clarifying questions and made sure I fully grasped the case before trying to solve it. This was really great because none of the questions I got asked where typical. What I found to be really helpful about LOMS is that there weren't a bazillion frameworks to remember so it allowed my case solving process to be a lot more organic because I was working on the process to solve the case and not necessarily a "plug and play" exercise. I think the reason LOMS was really helpful for me is that I didn't necessarily have a large network of former consultants to rely on for help and there weren't a lot of people that I knew that were in the same position I was in, so I knew that I would have limited opportunities for one-on-one case practice. I'd like to say how helpful LOMS was in preparing me for cases. “I am happy to report that I have an offer from Bain! Keep up the great work, thank you again, and best wishes!”

This was something I didn't think was imperative when interviewers evaluate a candidate, but I realized from your recordings that one of the key skills of a consultant is effective and concise communication skills. I truly believe that your resources made a difference in how I work through a case, and even built up my confidence and allowed my personality to shine through to the interviewers. I received great feedback from my interviewers, that they extended the offer to me 3 days later with much contentment! In addition to the coaching sessions with one your case coaches, I managed to even work through the math portion quicker than I usually did. My 1st and 2nd round interviews went MUCH better than I expected (even better than my McKinsey interviews).

Then, a friend of mine recommended me to use your LOMS resource, and I listened attentively to your recordings and feedback so I would learn how to work through a case candidate-led style, as I needed to transition to that from the interviewer-led style (McKinsey style). I believe this was the main reason I didn't get the offer in the end.

I even answered the wrong question because I didn't clarify a specific word and drew an incorrect framework. My 2nd round interview with McKinsey was not as good as I hoped. What I didn't realize was that I needed to improve on my structuring and communication skills, as well as taking a few minutes to think about what I was going to say before I actually say it. Although I passed it, I knew I could've done better. Without them, I wouldn't have been able to pass my final round interview with Bain in the Middle East office as an entry-level consultant.īefore coming across your resources, I was practicing case studies for three months last summer for my 1st round interview with McKinsey in the Middle East. “I want to thank you for creating the LOMS resource, as well as the Mental Math practice tool.
